Company History

United Rope (HOLLAND) Distributors has been in business since 1960. Founded by United Ropeworks of Rotterdam, Holland, URD quickly became a leader in the importation of quality SISAL baler twines, and our premier label "HOLLAND EXTRA" soon became the industry standard for quality and reliability.

A half a world away, in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, a small company was formed in 1965 called Cresal Comercio E Representacoes, Ltda. This company soon became one of Brazil's largest raw sisal exporters and from this success formed SISALANA S/A in 1975, which was then, and still is now, the largest single sisal baler twine manufacturing facility in Brazil.

SISALANA purchased United Rope (HOLLAND) Distributors from Holland in 1978. With SISALANA having direct access to their own sisal growers and contractors and the most modern spinners installed in the newest factory in Brazil, SISALANA soon became the largest single twine manufacturing factory in Brazil with the manufacturing capacity of 100 tons per day. SISALANA'S quality and manufacturing process, coupled with the name brand recognition of our "HOLLAND EXTRA" label, has enabled us to retain the quality and reliability that people look for in the sisal baler twine market.

Our tradition continues to this day. We are committed to the idea of continuing to supply "THE WORLD'S FINEST TWINE" to the world's finest customers, YOU!
